Privacy Policy

SinTax ("we," "us") is an anonymous confession app. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate — if anything here is unclear, email support@sintax.app.
Information we collect
We collect the minimum needed to run the app:
- Email address — used only to sign you in via a one-time code. We don't use it for marketing.
- Username — chosen by you, shown publicly on your confessions instead of your real identity.
- Confession content — the text, tags, and NSFW/Good Deed status of what you post.
- Activity data — reactions, tips, and flags you send or receive, so features like the Sin Graph and credit balances work.
- Purchase records — which subscription or Boost you bought, and the transaction ID from Apple, so we can grant the right number of credits. We never see or store your card details — that's handled entirely by the App Store.
We do not collect your real name, location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers, and SinTax does not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or any third-party trackers.
How we use it
- To operate core features — posting confessions, the credit system, reactions, tips, and the Sin Graph.
- To review confessions flagged by other users for violating our content guidelines.
- To email you about your account when necessary (e.g. a one-time sign-in code).
Anonymity and confession content
Confessions are shown publicly under your username — never your email or real name. Other users have no way to see who you are from within the app.
Because confessions can be reacted to, tipped, and reported by other users the moment they're posted, deleting your account does not delete confessions you've already posted. Account deletion removes your login and personal account details and signs you out everywhere; confessions already posted remain attached to your existing username, exactly as they appeared before deletion.
Data sharing
We don't sell your data. We share the minimum necessary with:
- Apple / Google — to process subscription and Boost purchases through their in-app purchase systems.
- Law enforcement — only if legally required (e.g. a valid subpoena or court order).
We don't share data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies, because we don't use any.
Data retention
We keep account and confession data for as long as your account exists, or as long as a confession remains posted. Sin Credits themselves expire one year after they're issued, but that's a feature of the credit system, not a data-deletion policy.
Your rights
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account in the app. You can also email support@sintax.app to ask what data we hold about you or to request changes.
Age requirement
SinTax includes user-submitted content that may be mature or explicit (tagged NSFW by the poster). It is not intended for anyone under 17, in line with the app's App Store age rating.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of SinTax after a change means you accept the updated policy.
